German SS Waffenstillstand Armistice

Postcard. "German SS Waffenstillstand lying in Alexandra Dock Newport Mon. Handed over to the Allies."

"Waffenstillstand" is written on the centre of the side of the ship with "Armistice" underneath. (Armistice is a straight translation of Waffenstillstand.) It seems unlikely that this is the name of the ship as the white text on the postcard states. However this is definitely Newport Docks as the top of the transporter bridge can just be glimpsed over the stern of the ship.
